Newark airport holds potential, governor says

ELMWOOD PARK – Gov. Chris Christie says an announcement is pending in the next month or two that would make Newark Airport more accessible.

The governor was asked today at a town hall if he could do something to make the airport more of an asset to the surrounding city. Christie provided scant details about the upcoming announcement, but said something is in the works.

“I see the potential in Newark as well as a business center,” Christie said, agreeing with the resident who asked the question.

The governor hinted that an announcement could pertain to allowing more people to come through Newark Airport, saying it’s a hub for so many people in the New York/New Jersey region.

“We have to make it easier for folks (to travel through Newark Airport,)” said Christie, adding, “We have some planes for that.”
