This just in from today’s DNC coverage: Tom Brokaw accidentally ate half an Ambien before appearing on Morning Joe. He’s O.K., though!

After appearing on the show (which you can watch here), Mr. Brokaw was taken away in an ambulance in Charlotte, N.C., with complaints of feeling light-headed. According to a statement from NBC News President Steve Capus, “Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated, is in good spirits, and is expected to be released shortly.”
The 77-year-old anchor later tweeted himself, “All is well Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants …”
Which is still more coherent than we are in the morning.
