The Fitchburg Art Musuem in Fitchburg, Mass., has a new director, Nicholas Capasso. The news comes to us from The Street via Artforum. Mr. Capasso arrives at the museum from the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Mass., where he held the position of deputy director for curatorial affairs. He had been with that institution for 22 years, serving as its acting director from 2007 to 2008.

“I am most eager to join the fabulous team at the Fitchburg Art Museum, and to bring my experience and passion for art and education to bear on this wonderful institution,” Mr. Capasso told The Street. He will start at the museum in December.

Founded in 1925, the Fitchburg has 20,000 square feet worth of gallery space and a collection of works that date back 5,000 years. Through Dec. 30, it has an exhibition of Hudson River School painting on view.
