Lower chamber passes resolutions

The Assembly passed these resolutions today:

AJR27: This joint resolution designates Nov. 15 of each year as “Patient Advocate Day” in order to affirm the commitment of this state to achieving progressive, fiscally sound, fair, and effective health care for every New Jersey citizen. It passed 75-0-4.

AJR55: This joint resolution would designate January of each year as “Human Trafficking Prevention Month” in New Jersey to promote ongoing education about the signs and consequences of human trafficking, to recognize and advance efforts to end human trafficking in all of its forms, and to encourage support for the victims of human trafficking throughout the State of New Jersey and across the world. It passed 79-0.

AJR56: This joint resolution would designate Jan. 11 of each year as “Human Trafficking Awareness Day” in New Jersey to raise public awareness of, and opposition to, human trafficking and to encourage support for the victims of human trafficking throughout the State of New Jersey and across the world. It passed 79-0.

AJR72:  This joint resolution would designate October of each year as “National Dwarfism Awareness Month” in New Jersey to promote public understanding of dwarfism, to improve efforts to support people with dwarfism and end the discrimination that they may experience, and to celebrate their contributions to New Jersey’s economy and social diversity. It passed 78-0.

AR15: This resolution urges the Attorney General of New Jersey to undertake an investigation of whether price-fixing in the sale of motor fuels is responsible for the escalation and fluctuation of motor fuel prices in this state from January 2009 to the present and to report the results of the investigation to the Governor and Legislature at the earliest possible date. It passed 73-4-1.

AR42: This resolution supports the “Take a Veteran to School Day” program, a national program developed by the History Channel to link veterans with students and communities.  It passed 79-0.

AR85: This Assembly resolution commemorates the Republic of China’s (Taiwan’s) 13th presidential inauguration ceremony which took place on May 20, 2012.  It passed 76-0.

The resolution also expresses the General Assembly’s strong commitment to a closer economic partnership with the Republic of China (Taiwan) and reiterates its support for a closer economic and trade partnership between the United States and the Republic of China (Taiwan). 

AJR48/SJR12: This joint resolution designates Nov. 10 of each year as “Neuroendocrine Tumor Cancer Awareness Day” in New Jersey. It passed 79-0.
