Gov. Chris Christie said today he has not yet asked Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno to run alongside him in his re-election bid.

“The Lieutenant Governor and I have not had that conversation yet,” Christie said, adding that he is scheduled to sit down with Guadagno next week.  “Certainly I have been extraordinarily pleased with her as a partner and as a friend and I think she’s done a great job and really charted a new course and I think she has acquitted herself really well.”

Guadagno is the state’s first lieutenant governor and also serves as secretary of state.  From the beginning of her tenure, Christie has put her in charge of business development in the state.
The governor announced earlier this week that he plans to run for re-election, ending months of speculation over his future plans.
