TRENTON – Senate lawmakers are hosting their fourth committee hearing on Superstorm Sandy next week.
The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will take testimony from the public in Highlands on Dec. 11. The hearing is part of a series of meetings regarding the aftermath of the storm.
“The first three hearings have provided us with a tremendous amount of feedback and ideas from those who were on the ground during the storm,” said Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-36), chairman of the committee, in a statement.
“What we really need now though is to hear directly from those affected by the storm. We can’t move forward in this process without direct input from the public,” he said. “While I know it may be difficult given individual circumstances, we wanted to present an opportunity for people to come and share their experiences, so that we can learn from them.”
The hearing will be hosted at the Genevieve M. Hawley Cafetorium at Henry Hudson Regional School beginning at 3 p.m.
