TRENTON – Bills regarding college loan repayment schedules and disability identification cards have been signed into law.
A2947 is designed to prevent misuse of ID placards.
Among other things, the term “handicapped” will be replaced with “person with a disability,” as part of the ongoing effort to eradicate outdated and sometimes offensive terminology.
And all such placards will be issued with a prominently printed and displayed expiration date.
Prime sponsors include Assembly members Troy Singleton, D-7, Mount Laurel; John Burzichelli, D-3, Paulsboro; and Reed Gusciora, D-15, Trenton.
A1083 mandates that educational brochures on college loan repayment schedules be created and distributed to high school students.
Among the prime sponsors are Assembly members Annette Quijano, D-20, Elizabeth; Pamela Lampitt, D-6, Voorhees; Celeste Riley, D-3, Salem; and Valerie Vainieri Huttle, D-37, Englewood.
