In a consent order released today, ELEC reported the case involved “six expenditures totaling $227,120.64 as in-kind contributions in aid of the candidacy of gubernatorial candidate Jon S. Corzine in the 2009 general election, in a manner prohibited by the New Jersey Campaign Contributions and Expenditures Reporting Act.”

ELEC stated that in agreeing to this settlement, neither the committee nor its treasurer admit or deny the incidents violate the campaign reporting act.

The Commission said it imposed a joint penalty on the committee and the treasurer, and that the money already has been paid.
