TRENTON – According to lawmakers who sponsored legislation that passed both chambers and was waiting for Gov. Chris Christie’s approval, the following bills were signed into law by the governor:
A2164, which will ensure parents serving in the Armed Forces who are involved in custody cases are not disadvantaged by certain military absences.
S829/A1744, which will make affordable housing more accessible to New Jersey veterans.
A1133, which will authorize a local public contract set-aside program for business enterprises that are owned by or that employ veterans.
A bill to allow mobile horse wagering was signed into law. The new law authorizes the New Jersey Racing Commission to allow mobile gaming devices at in-state racetracks to wager on in-state and out-of-state races being transmitted via simulcasting and live races taking place at that racetrack.
