Members of the New Jersey Congressional delegation panned a decision by Republican House leaders to prevent a vote on the Superstorm Sandy relief package.

House Speaker John Boehner last night prevented a vote on the aid package following the passage of the bill to avoid the fiscal cliff.

U.S. Rep. Peter King of New York said Boehner yelled at U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-2) after LoBiondo and other NJGOP caucus members confronted the speaker.

U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6) joined others from the tri-state area calling on Boehner to bring the Sandy relief package up for a vote.

“I am outraged that at a time when we need it the most, Speaker Boehner could dismiss the need for the same kind of relief that has been granted to other regions hit by similar disasters,” Pallone said.  “This bill has already passed in the U.S. Senate and must be brought up for a vote before the end of this Congress, now.”
