TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie announced Thursday signing the following bills into law:
A-1394/S-1856 (Wilson, Conaway/A.R. Bucco) – Establishes pilot program suspending operations of superintendent and deputy superintendent of elections in certain second class counties
A-1688/S-2303 (Russo, Riley, Wagner/O’Toole) – Prohibits public institutions of higher education from permitting direct solicitation of students for credit card accounts
A-2739/S-1949 (Benson, Wagner/Greenstein, Sweeney) – Directs State Board of Education to promulgate regulations requiring school districts to develop a plan to establish stability in special education programming
A-3027/S-2350 (Greenwald, Eustace, Milam, Webber/Pou, Oroho) – Authorizes the use of fraud prevention contractors by the Division of Taxation
A-3166/SS for S-2129 (Wilson, Fuentes/Norcross) – Permits appointment and transfer of certain special law enforcement officers and county park police officers by certain sheriffs and counties
A-3178/S-2075 (Fuentes, Wilson, Coutinho/Norcross) – Authorizes sale of site of former Riverfront State Prison in City of Camden as State surplus property to NJEDA for public auction to prequalified developer
A-3591/S-2394 (Burzichelli, Benson, Conaway, Spencer/Turner, Oroho) – Appropriates $24,290,379 from “2009 Farmland Preservation Fund” and “Garden State Farmland Preservation Trust Fund” to State Agriculture Development Committee for farmland preservation purposes
A-3592/S-2397 (Albano, Eustace, Singleton, Caride DiMaio/Beach, Bateman) – Appropriates $38.5 million from “2009 Farmland Preservation Fund” and “Garden State Farmland Preservation Trust Fund” to State Agriculture Development Committee for county planning incentive grants
A-3593/S-2396 (Milam, Caputo, Gusciora, Barnes, DiMaio/Van Drew, Doherty) – Appropriates $16,250,000 from “2009 Farmland Preservation Fund” for planning incentive grants to municipalities for farmland preservation purposes
A-3594/S-2395 (Riley, Chivukula, Johnson, DiMaio/Sweeney, Singer) – Appropriates $4,083,320 from “2009 Farmland Preservation Trust Fund,” “2007 Farmland Preservation Fund,” and “Garden State Farmland Trust Fund” for grants to certain nonprofit organizations for farmland preservation purposes
