Private-sector rolls increased by 198,000 between January and February according to the ADP National Employment Report.
The payroll servicing company also said Wednesday its January report of employment figures were revised, showing an uptick of 23,000 jobs for a final total of 215,000 in January.
In February, small businesses, defined as those having between one and 49 employees, added 77,000 jobs. Medium-sized businesses, which have between 50-499 employees, saw employment increase by 65,000. And large businesses, which have at least 500 employees, added 57,000 jobs.
“In February 2013, the U.S. private sector added a total of 198,000 new jobs, with most of this job growth occurring in the services sector. This growth can be attributed to comparable contributions across all three company size segments,” said Carlos A. Rodriguez, president and chief executive officer of ADP, in a statement.
The company doesn’t provide state-by-state data, so it’s not clear if New Jersey benefitted from the national trend.
