The Berlin and Cambridge, Mass.–based artist Matt Saunders, who is represented in New York by Harris Lieberman, has been awarded the second edition of the Jean-François Prat Prize, which carries a €20,000 ($25,600) purse and includes a two-month show at the law offices of Bredin Prat in Paris. The other artists shortlisted for the prize were Guillaume Bresson amd Mathieu Cherkit, who will each receive €2,000 ($2,600).
The contemporary art prize was inaugurated by the firm last year in memory of Jean-Francois Prat, an art collector who cofounded it. The 2012 prize went to Farah Atassi.
Congratulations, Mr. Saunders.
