SUS, or Services for the Underserved, is having a gala called the Inaugural Dinner for a Better New York at Tom Colicchio’s restaurant Riverpark, with another “celebrity chef,” Drew Nieporent, and couture designer Maggie Norris as honorary chairs. We hope this “better New York” plan includes more taxis from 5 to 6 p.m., as our Uber bill is getting way too big. The night offers hors d’oeurves from Nobu and The Darby and dinner delicacies by Café Boulud and Morimoto, among other chichi eateries. Tickets range from $1,000 to $10,000 for a table of 10, which should buy you all the sushi you can eat.

Riverpark, 450 East 29th Street, (212) 729-9790, 7pm.
