Three Democratic candidates who filed petitions to run for governor are not offically out but are headed that way.
Willie Arajuo, Carl Bergmanson and Jeff Boss all failed to convince administrative law judges in separate cases this week that they filed sufficient legitimate signatures.
Some of Bergmanson’s and Boss’s petition signatures were duplicates and canceled each other out.
The only candidate who withstood a challenge by the State Democratic Committee was Troy Webster of East Orange.
Webster is running on a slate with incumbent veteran Mayor Bob Bowser, who’s trying to fend off attorney Lester Taylor, Freeholder Carol Clark and Kevin Taylor.
Lester Taylor is running on a slate with gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18).
