TRENTON – Chalk up an additional $207,538 in public matching funds for the gubernatorial campaign of Sen. Barbara Buono.
The Election Law Enforcement Commission reported Tuesday it approved the latest round of matching dollars, bringing her total to date to $1,555,359.
The state matching funds program awards candidates $2 for every $1 raised. So far, with the primary looming next week, she has raised $987,827, according to ELEC filings.
Her opponent, Republican Gov. Chris Christie, chose not to take matching funds in the primary and as of his last report had raised just under $6.2 million.
