Gov. Chris Christie is up today with his second negative ad of the campaign season, this one attacking his opponent on her ties to former Gov. Jon Corzine and her record as the Senate finance committee chairwoman.
The 30-second television spot, entitled “Timeline,” will run as part of the campaign’s most recent $950,000 media buy.
“As the architect of Jon Corzine’s budgets, Barbara Buono was central to those disastrous policies that brought New Jersey to the brink of catastrophe. In just two short years, Senator Buono voted to increase taxes and fees 23 times, while overseeing a $13.4 billion increase in state debt, and the stunning loss of 240,000 of our families’ jobs,” said Chris Christie for Governor Press Secretary Kevin Roberts.
This is Christie’s fourth ad of the campaign – including a Spanish language spot – and the second attacking Buono. To date, he has spent about $2 million on both network and cable air time.
Buono is due to go up with her first television ad tomorrow, according to a campaign source, as part of a $1 million buy set to run in the New York City market and on cable telelvision.
