LD 18 Republican state Senate candidate Dave Stahl is outpacing his Democratic competitor Assemblyman Peter Barnes (D-18) in the money race.

Barnes and Stahl are vying for the Senate seat in the Democratic-dominant district being vacated by state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18), who’s running for governor.

In their individual campaign accounts, ELEC shows Stahl with $87,321.68 cash on hand and Barnes with $65,588.24.

“I am pleased with the outpouring of support I have received since my announcement,” said Stahl. “As the Mayor of East Brunswick, I worked with members of both parties to cut spending, freeze the government payroll and lower property taxes. Our supporters have made it clear that they are looking for that same across the aisle leadership in Trenton to provide property tax relief and good-paying jobs to middle-class residents across Middlesex County.”
