Less than a week in and Cory Booker and Frank Pallone have already exchanged barbs.
Booker today fired back at Rep. Pallone over comments the Congressman made earlier this week on the Newark mayor’s cozy relationship with Gov. Chris Christie.
On the Brian Lehrer radio show, Booker called Pallone “dead wrong” over Pallone’s assertion that the mayor’s attachment to Christie has done little in the way of helping spur Democratic policies.
In response, Booker voiced what will likely be a key point of attack in the coming two months. He accused Pallone of being entrenched in the Washington culture and of unabridged partisanship.
With the short ramp-up to the Aug. 13 primary, this election has all the makings of a slugfest.
