TRENTON – The Assembly passed a revised version of a bill that would eliminate the requirement for college students to purchase health insurance in order to attend school.
The Senate had concurred earlier today with the governor’s conditional veto recommendations to expand the bill, S2291, so that students who attend any type of college would not have to purchase health insurance.
In his conditional veto, Gov. Chris Christie said purchasing health insurance should be a choice, not a mandate.
The Assembly passed the bill 60-6-4.
