Please join us for an insightful and informative session with NJ Health Commissioner Mary E. O’Dowd as she discusses the pivotal way her department interacts with the state’s business community. This special luncheon roundtable is expected to explore a broad range of topics, including: The changing health care landscape, managing chronic diseases, corporate wellness programs and the health-related challenges our state faces as we rebuild from Superstorm Sandy.
Commissioner O’Dowd earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Douglass College, Rutgers University and a master’s in public health in Health Services Management from Columbia University. Her tenure with the department began five years ago and in 2011 Gov. Chris Christie nominated her to become commissioner. She has said she chose a career in public health because of the challenges involved in improving the health of our communities and the positive impact the work can have on people’s lives. This Healthcare Roundtable promises to be a valuable and rewarding presentation for all attendees.
