TRENTON – The Assembly passed several bills designed to promote preservation of environmental infrastructure.
S2815: Passed 71-5-3. The bill increases the statutory debt ceiling of the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust by establishing a debt ceiling of $5 billion for the Disaster Relief Emergency Financing Program, a new program established in the bill.
The present debt ceiling for obligations issued for all other purposes of the Trust would remain at $2.8 billion.
S2816: Passed 78-0. Authorizes N.J. Environmental Infrastructure Trust to make loans for environmental infrastructure projects for FY2014.
S2817: Passed 78-0. This bill appropriates federal and state money to the Department of Environmental Protection to finance approximately $780.3 million in environmental infrastructure projects for State Fiscal Year 2014.
