Senate Judiciary OKs nominations including BPU post

TRENTON – Senate lawmakers approved various nominations Monday to boards and committees.

Gov. Chris Christie’s pick to fill a vacancy to the Board of Public Utilities cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee following little discussion.

Dianne Solomon, the wife of the board’s former president, cleared the committee following unanimous support. In April, the governor announced his decision to nominate Solomon to fill a $140,000 vacancy at the agency her husband once led.

Solomon, of Haddonfield, is an official with the U.S. Tennis Association and serves on the South Jersey Transportation Authority.

The following individuals were also considered and approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee:
