Bankruptcy trustee reportedly asks judge to order Schroeder’s arrest

A bankruptcy trustee is asking a judge to arrest Assemblyman Robert Schroeder on contempt of court charges, according to a published report.

The Bergen Record reports the court-appointed trustee is seeking formal charges against the embattled lawmaker for failing to comply with a court order. Schroeder reportedly failed to appear at a meeting with his creditors and furnish certain financial records.

Schroeder was indicted late last year on charges he wrote more than $3 million in bad checks to creditors.

The lawmaker has been stripped of all his leadership positions and called on by his colleagues in the Assembly to resign.
