As part of the High Line’s art program, a work by the artist duo Gilbert and George will grace the billboard at West 18th Street and 10th Avenue–which in the past has featured pieces by John Baldessari, Thomas Bayrle, Raymond Pettibon and many others.
The design, which was first reported by Carol Vogel in The New York Times, is based on Walking, a 1984 photograph of the two artists surrounded by young men. It goes on view Sept. 3 and will be up until Oct. 1.
