The Vera List Center for Art and Politics at the New School has chosen multimedia artist and writer Jill Magid and Triple Canopy editor Alexander Provan as its 2013-15 fellows. The two winners, who were selected for their “advancement of the discourse on art and politics,” will draw upon the New School’s academic resources to pursue longterm projects. Ms. Magid, who is an adjunct professor at Cooper Union and shows with Yvon Lambert in Paris, will use her fellowship to create work revolving around Mexican architect Luis Barragán. Mr. Provan will write a collection of essays on standards he intends to publish as a book.
