Nokia Takes a Stab at Relevance by Offering to Help Find Your Car Keys

Your "hipness" will remain at large, sorry mom.

The Nokia Lumia 900.

The Nokia Lumia 900.

Looking for a reason to go back to Nokia? You’re in luck, because the company’s new where-the-hell-is-the-remote-control feature is even better than a game of Snake (JK, nothing is better than a game of Snake).

Lumia smartphone users, all 12 of them, will be able to use a new “Treasure Tag” feature soon, according to The Verge. Simply affix a square Treasure Tag accessory to your wallet, purse, MacBook or second-born child and you’ll be able to keep tabs on their whereabouts at all times.

The new feature will arrive on phones via Nokia’s creepy-sounding “Amber update,” which is being rolled out in the next few weeks, presumably by an unmarked white van.  iPhone users who are incapable of performing normal adult functions like not losing their keys can take comfort in the fact that someone’s already invented the same tool for iOS.

So what happens if you misplace your purse and all its contents, including your Lumia and your Treasure-Tagged car keys and wallet? As always, tough luck.
