Hey, did you hear that Congressman Pete King might run for president? If you haven’t, Mr. King wants that to change.
Hours after confirming his interest in the White House to Politicker today, Mr. King fired off an email to his supporters entitled, “Rep. Peter King Mulls 2016 Presidential Bid.” In the quick missive, Mr. King says, “Recently my name has been floated as a potential 2016 Presidential candidate … I won’t rule out a possible run.”
He further states that he’s far from ready to declare his candidacy as of today, but is “concerned about the lack of a coherent national security and homeland security and counter-terrorism policy by the Republican Party.”
After summarizing his early platform points, Mr. King concludes the email with a link to contribute to his congressional campaign.
View the letter below:
Dear [XX],
Recently my name has been floated as a potential 2016 Presidential candidate.
The idea has even received support from prominent Republicans such as Michael Mukasey, former federal judge and U.S. attorney general under George W. Bush, as well as former California Rep. Barry Goldwater Jr.
While I’m nowhere near ready to declare my candidacy, I am concerned about the lack of a coherent national security and homeland security and counterterrorism policy by the Republican Party.
So, I won’t rule out a possible run.

As always, I thank you for your support.
