Newark Councilman Anibal Ramos has $400,000 on hand for his run for Newark mayor, which is just under a year away.
Ramos has raised $253,000 since announcing his candidacy on May 28. According to the campaign, the donations have come from nearly 600 donors, about half from the city of Newark.
“We have received an outpouring of support for my candidacy for Newark mayor, especially from small donors who call Newark home,” Ramos said. “Our fundraising shows strong grassroots support for my candidacy in Newark from citizens who want to see us continue the progress that began when I joined the council in 2006.”
