Southern New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council unanimously backs Booker

Describing Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker as “a visionary who will fight for New Jersey’s disappearing middle class,” today Jim Kehoe, President of the Southern New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council, announced the Council’s unanimous support for Booker’s U.S. Senate candidacy.

“Mayor Booker not only has a great track record when it comes to rebuilding Newark, but he has been a true friend to organized labor through his steadfast support of PLA’s,” said Kehoe, who also serves as Business Manager for UA Local 322 Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Kehoe added: “Our council is honored to support Cory in his bid to fill Senator Lautenberg’s seat. We will work tirelessly to ensure a huge Cory Booker victory on August 13th as well as the October 16th special general election for Senate.”

The council represents 25,000 union men and women in 19 member unions.
