Newark Mayor Cory Booker picked up another newspaper endorsement Wednesday, this time coming from the state’s second largest paper.

The Bergen Record says “the choice is clear” that Booker should be tapped by voters to fill the shoes of the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg. The endorsement comes the same day a Quinnipiac University Poll predicted “unless the sky falls, Newark Mayor Cory Booker can start looking for a Washington apartment.”

The Record’s editorial board argued Democrats will be better served by a candidate “who believes in the core principles of his or her party but is willing to work across the aisle.”

The newspaper also endorsed Republican Steve Lonegan in the upcoming primary.
