Durkin: “It has the strong potential to be the lowest turnout in NJ election history”

It’s an Obama model, but hardly an Obama election.

The clerk of Essex County said the morning was an Election Day washout.

“It has the strong potential to be lowest turnout in NJ election history,” said Chris Durkin.

No one pre-Election Day thought a mid August election would yield anything other than moribund turnout.

But Durkin said rain for five hours made it even lower than expected. Durkin: “It has the strong potential to be the lowest turnout in NJ election history”
