Head of NJ Hispanic Chamber of Commerce backs Christie’s re-election

BELLEVILLE – A week after appearing at an event in support of Cory Booker for U.S. Senate, Carlos Medina stood at a podium and announced his support for the re-election of Gov. Chris Christie.

“He has my personal endorsement,” said Medina, president of the New Jersey Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “I’m from Hudson County where we like people who tell it like it is.”

Medina stood with Christie, Belleville Mayor Ray Kimble, Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo and assorted Latino business leaders outside a family-owned Cuban eatery here as the governor absorbed the endorsement.

“Strong leadership matters,” said Christie, at a podium in front of Sweets and Cartaditos. “This is a tough state.”
