Lautenberg’s son appears with Pallone on the campaign trail

The son of the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg joined Rep. Frank Pallone on the campaign trail Tuesday.

Josh Lautenberg, who along with his siblings and the former senator’s wife have already endorsed Pallone, appeared with the congressman in his father’s native Paterson.

“My father knew with great confidence that Frank Pallone would work harder than anyone to protect a woman’s right to choose, to work alongside President Obama to fight for the right of all Americans to have affordable, accessible health care and that Frank Pallone would stand with him and his fellow New Jerseyans to clean up and protect the shore,” said Josh Lautenberg in a statement.

“If my dad were here now, he would be endorsing you with great pride. Because I know you were the person he wanted to succeed him,” he said.

The public event comes a day after the four Democratic contenders vying for the U.S. Senate seat appeared on the same stage for the first time during a Monday evening debate.
