Dealer Michael Lieberman has joined Marianne Boesky Gallery as senior director of sales. Mr. Lieberman previously ran the New York gallery Harris Lieberman, which represented artists like Karl Haendel, Zak Prekop and Thomas Zipp, with his wife Jessie Washburne-Harris for seven years. In June, they announced they planned to close, and Ms. Washburne-Harris joined Metro Pictures as a director.
“I look forward to Michael bringing his passion, leadership and expertise to the gallery,” Ms. Boesky said in a statement. “He will be a valued addition of our growing team.” Mr. Lieberman will handle primary and secondary market sales at Boesky, which works with artists like Sue De Beer, Diana Al-Hadid, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Donald Moffett, Rachel Feinstein, Barnaby Furnas and the estate of Salvatore Scarpitta. It has spaces on West 24th and East 64th Streets.
“I’ve always respected Marianne Boesky and the gallery’s programming,” Mr. Lieberman said, “and I’m thrilled to join the gallery at such an important moment in the gallery’s history.”
