VH1 presents blues, gospel, jazz and R&B band The California Honeydrops in concert as part of the music network’s Save The Music Young Benefactors, which supports music and the arts. The band, which has released three full-length albums, was formed in subway stations of Oakland, Calif. The group’s live shows have the soul and fervor of a street parade, an energy the performers call “spreading honey” on the audience. Sounds sticky and sweet.
The Canal Room, 285 West Broadway, (212) 941-8100, 7pm-10pm, $20 at the door.
