A TV ad blast by a super PAC in LD 1 put challenger Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt in a retaliatory posture this evening as her GOP Senate campaign released a TV ad of its own.
The challenger challenged the Democrat’s record and – in a statement accompanying the ad – lost no time taking a swipe at the senator’s running mate.
“With property taxes up over 70% since Van Drew took office – after he promised to lower them – and his record of raising taxes and fees that made it more expensive to buy healthcare, drive a car, use your cell phone or heat your home, Senator Van Drew cannot run on his record,” Adelizzi-Schmidt said.
“Additionally, Van Drew’s attempts to sweep Nelson Albano’s unethical conduct under the rug backfired this week when a state legislative ethics committee unanimously voted to proceed with a full-blown investigation into Albano’s attempts to abuse the power of his office to ruin the career of an innocent State Trooper. They should look into Van Drew’s role in the matter, as well.”
This was the Adelizzi-Schmidt campaign’s second ad of the season and the first negative ad.
