TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie’s campaign received approval for $141,400 in public matching funds Monday, according to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
The Republican incumbent governor has received more than $8 million from the state’s matching funds program to date. It’s currently seeking approval of about $56,000, which would draw $112,000 in matching funds and, if approved, max the campaign out of the $8.2 million in eligible matching funds.
Last week, Democratic challenger Sen. Barbara Buono was awarded $654,711 from ELEC. The state money brought her total raised to $1.3 million to date.
