TRENTON – The Legislature has scheduled its third in a series of Sandy recovery hearings, and two state officials have been asked to appear.
Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Richard Constable III and Recovery and Rebuilding Executive Director Marc Ferzan have been invited to testify before a joint Senate and Assembly Environment committee at the Statehouse on Monday.
At two previous hearings – in Atlantic City and Jersey City – lawmakers compiled a list of complaints from storm-ravaged homeowners who said they are railing against bureaucracies nearly a year after Superstorm Sandy hammered New Jersey.
The lawmakers hope to hear from Constable and Ferzan on the progress of Sandy recovery at 10 a.m. in Room 4 of the Annex.
Sen. Bob Smith, chair of the Senate Environment Committee, said that they had not yet heard whether the state officials will attend. He said he hopes they do, in light of the comments from residents at the previous hearings.
