LoBiondo asks for wage freeze in the event of shutdown

U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo has requested that his $174,000-per-year salary be frozen in the event that the cuirrent stalemate over Obamacare leads to a government shutdown.

In a letter to the U.S House of Representatives Chief Administrative Office, LoBiondo requests the suspension “until normal operations are returned.”

While the U.S. Constitution limits the ability of Congress to cut pay, LoBiondo is nevertheless requesting it.

Lawmakers must come to an agreement on a spending bill by midnight tonight or risk a politically and financially costly shutdown.
