Steve Lonegan said Cory Booker can have the Sierra Club endorsement.

“While Cory Booker was standing at a podium in Hoboken with Jeff Tittel, I was gretting a great reception by the New Jersey Restaurant Association,” Lonegan told PolitickerNJ.com. “Jeff Tittel and Cory Booker both embrace policies that would crush small business in New Jersey – businesses like restaurants. I read somewhere that Jeff Tittel said Cory Booker has been a good steward of Newark’s environment. Really? Just look at the environment of Newark. Cory Booker and Jeff Tittel would make New Jersey like old Newark, where there’s 14% unemployment. That’s a great environment?”

The Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, Lonegan has been staunchly against bombing in Syria, while his opponent has been more cautious in expressing a point of view.

In light of news today that Russia’s Vladamir Putin says America should drop the threat of force against Syria while his country undertakes oversight of Syria’s chemical weapons, Lonegan said President Barack Obama continues to lead from behind.

“The President is confused and has no vision about how to lead America,”Lonegan said. “It’s a sad day when Russia’s the one stepping up to defuse the potential for war and the President has to rely on other countries. And Cory Booker’s would be a rubber stamp for Obama.”
