Senate President Steve Sweeney and his Assembly running mates, vying for re-election in the 3rd Legislative District, today received the endorsement of the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance, which represents hunters, fishermen and other outdoors enthusiasts.

“Sportsmen and women can’t fish or hunt with polluted habitat, whether the habitat is water or land. Senator Sweeney has a proven track record of supporting environmental stewardship and ensuring access to fish, game, and our state’s many natural resources,” said Anthony Mauro, chairman and co-founder of the NJOA.

The NJOA endorsement comes despite the group’s opposition earlier this year to one of Sweeney’s signature bills, a measure that would embed the firearms license in a carrier’s driver’s license.
