A 23-year-old man was brutally attacked by three teenagers in north London yesterday, after they spotted him carrying a copy of the highly anticipated game less than two hours after he purchased it.

The three teens — aged, 15, 17 and 18 — allegedly targeted the victim during the game’s midnight launch, outside of a British supermarket. Police say that the man was slammed with a brick and stabbed, and they also got his phone. The trio was arrested for suspicion of robbery. The victim is recovering at a London hospital and is in stable condition.

The Independent writes that the attack’s motive is “unclear at this stage.” They might want to start by looking into the unprecedented hype that’s seemingly hypnotized the entire tech press. Let’s all go back to playing Frogger?
