Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, who earlier this year announced she would not run for re-election, has decided not to finish out her term and will resign from the Assembly effective tomorrow.

In a letter to to the Assembly clerk, Wagner said she plans to move out of state to “assist my son and his wife following the birth of my healthy new grandson this past August.”

Wagner was first elected to the Assembly in 2008 after stints on the Bergen County Board of Freeholders and the Paramus Borough Council.
The county committee must meet within 35 days to fill the seat.
