Finally: 19th century mathematician Ada Lovelace was the world’s first computer programmer! In her honor, tomorrow is Ada Lovelace Day, celebrating women in STEM. One such woman was Red Burns (founder of NYU ITP and Godmother of Silicon Alley) who recently passed away (memorial on Nov. 2). Her life’s work continues at ITP, which is hosting the Women Entrepreneurs Festival in January. Across the river, Stevens Institute is hosting the first Ada Lovelace Conference this Friday.
