TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie’s campaign slapped down the environmental groups’ negative report card today on post-Sandy recovery operations.
“This is nothing more than a thinly veiled political attack and agenda pushing 12 days out from an election – an election in which prominent members of this coalition have endorsed the Governor’s opponent,” campaign spokesman Kevin Roberts said.
Both the N.J. Environmental Federation and the N.J. Sierra Club endorsed Sen. Barbara Buono for governor.
They were among the groups that issued failing grades or incompletes today to state and federal officials over progress in the nearly one year since Sandy devastated New Jersey.
The Department of Environmental Protection, targeted in the report card, deferred all comment to the administration.
