HAMILTON – Peter Inverso, the former 14th District state senator seeking to reclaim his seat, unveiled a student coalition Thursday that will support his campaign.

The 14th is one of the districts Republicans have targeted as critical if they are to have hopes of regaining the upper chamber.

Inverso is facing incumbent Democrat Sen. Linda Greenstein.

The leaders of the student coalition for Inverso: Chair Cody McLaughlin – Mercer County Community College student;

Alesandra Lipari – Rutgers University Student, U.S Army, Private First Class;

Donald Coughlan – Rutgers University College Student, NJ College Republican State Treasurer.

The coalition includes high school and college students.

“They are the future of New Jersey, and the value that their input has on New Jersey policy is immeasurable,” Inverso said in a release.

These student leaders issued a joint statement:

“We are proud to support former State Senator Peter Inverso. He is a leader who has advocated for our interests at every turn, he sponsored the school breakfast program, wrote Megan’s Law that made us and our neighborhoods safe, and championed the initiative that kept the best and brightest college students in New Jersey.

“The cost of college is increasing each year, and programs like the New Jersey Better Educational Savings Trust, which Peter Inverso co-sponsored, helped our friends and families to save and plan their future.

“Most importantly, we know that he is a proven job creator and he is committed to making sure that college graduates can start a career in New Jersey.” Inverso unveils student coalition
