The Record backs GOP challengers in LD 38

The campaigns of three Republicans hoping to grab three Democratic seats in LD 38 received the endorsement of The Record.

The North Jersey newspaper backed GOP Senate hopeful Fernando Alonso and his running mates over LD 38’s Sen. Bob Gordon and Assemblyman Tim Eustace and Joseph Lagana. The newspaper cited the trio’s seeming capability to bring “new ideas to the halls of Trenton” and Gordon’s lack of leadership following Superstorm Sandy as it relates to NJ Transit for the board’s decision to back the newcomers.

Alonso is running with Assembly hopefuls Joseph Scarpa and Joan Fragala.

Lagana was tapped to run for the seat after Assemblywoman Connie Wagner chose not to seek re-election. The Record backs GOP challengers in LD 38
