U.S. Senate reaches deal, reports say

As New Jersey voters head to the polls to decide who will represent the state in the U.S. Senate, news is coming out of Washington that Senate lawmakers hashed out an agreement to avert a Treasury default.

According to The Associated Press, Senate leaders announced a last-minute agreement today that would reopen the federal government following a 16-day partial shutdown and avert a default on the nation’s debt.
