Currie at the annual Democratic State Chairs Conference in NO

ATLANTIC CITY – Sources attributed the absence of Democratic State Party Chairman John Currie from League festivities to his attendence at the annual Democratic State Chairs Conference in New Orleans.

Currie was on the phone yesterday to his allies confirming what PolitickerNJ.com first reported two weeks ago, which is that he plans to pursue a full, two-year term as chair of the Democratic Party.

A Passaic County source said Currie plans to continue in his capacity as chairman of the county organization.

Passaic Democrats changed their bylaws to allow the veteran chairman to serve concurrently as state and county party chairman.
